The Office of Multicultural Student Life (MSL) recognizes the importance of a student’s responsibility to his/her academic curriculum. All MSL FWS student employees must hold a GPA of 2.5 or higher when hired, and must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA during his/her employment with MSL. FWS Students should carry a minimum of six (6) credit hours during employment.

FWS student employees may work a maximum of up to twenty hours per week, and a minimum of 10 hours during the fall and spring semesters, dependent on Federal Work Study award. No FWS student will be eligible to work for the University of Tennessee more than 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. The MSL staff recommends no more than 15 hours per week in order to maintain a healthy balance of work, academics, and other involvement.

    Work study student employees are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, and an average of 12 to 15 hours. Please indicate your work availability below. If unavailable, type N/A. Students are required to work a minimum of 2-hour shifts. MSL regular semester hours of operation are: Sunday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Summer/winter hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Marketing Assistant shifts are required during regular office hours, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
