Caribbean Splash Jam
Monday, August 21st

Experience the Caribbean UT style at the Annual Splash Jam Pool Party. You will enjoy live entertainment, Greek Stroll-Off, free food, games, prizes and lots more! A signature Welcome Week event, Splash Jam provides a fun-filled environment that allows us to welcome the Class 2021 and returning students.


13th Legend’s Lecture Series

The Legend’s Lecture series hopes to honor and raise public awareness of the accomplishments of an African American who has, in some way, positively shaped African American culture in their lifetime. The Legend’s Lecture Series was inaugurated in 2005, making this our 13th Annual Legend’s Lecture Event.


Homecoming Comedy Show

The Homecoming Comedy Show will provide a great source of comedic entertainment highlighting collegiate and African-American culture for the UT student body, alumni, and Knoxville community.


18th Annual Southeastern Stomp Fest
Friday, November 3rd, 6:30 p.m.
Alumni Memorial Building, Cox Auditorium

The Annual Southeastern Stomp Fest is a signature homecoming event hosted by the Black Cultural Programming Committee. Stomp Fest an opportunity for the UT student body, alumni, and Knoxville community to enjoy high energy stepping performances by NPHC Fraternities and Sororities.

Homecoming Tailgate
Saturday, November 4th, 12:00 p.m.
Frieson Black Cultural Center
Join us for a trip down memory lane as we celebrate Homecoming 2017! The annual tailgate will provide a fun-filled environment that allows current students to show their school spirit and fellowship with other students, faculty/staff, and alumni.

Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration
Monday, November 20th, 7:00 p.m.
The annual Kwanzaa celebration highlights the traditions and importance of Kwanzaa to African American culture. The event is often celebrated with a combination of a candle-lighting ceremony, feast (Karamu) and dancing.
