Sidney Marshall

Graduate Research Assistant

Sidney Marshall (she, her, hers) was born and raised in Manchester, Jamaica, and moved to the United States when she was seventeen years old to take up a full track and field scholarship. While a student-athlete at Clemson University, she specialized in sprint hurdles and graduated in 2020 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. She is currently a second year Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) student at the University of Tennessee.

Over the course of her athletic career, she served in many community building and leadership positions. She is passionate about the holistic development of marginalized populations and will dedicate her life to service upon graduating with her MPPA in May 2023.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading memoirs, talking to family and going out with friends. Her favorite quote is “I’ve failed, failed and failed again and that’s why I succeed” by Michael Jordan.
