Ronni grew up in Lenoir City, TN just outside of Knoxville. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Higher Education Student Affairs from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. Ronni spent several years working for a non-profit organization before pursuing her M.Ed and a career in higher education. It was in her first position out of college that she realized she had a passion for not only helping people, but helping college students specifically.
She served as the Coordinator of Academic Support in the Office of Multicultural Student Life (MSL) from August 2016 – August 2017. This role allowed her to translate her passion for helping students succeed, matriculate to graduation, and have equal access in higher education. As an Assistant Director, she is excited for the continued opportunity to support students, educate our campus on identity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and being anti-racist, while continuing to educate herself on these topics.
In her spare time, Ronni enjoys learning new information about sharks, spending time with her loved ones, hiking, and being a self-proclaimed “foodie”! She prescribes to the quote: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
