The MSL Welcome Back Celebration provides an opportunity for first-year and returning students to participate in the Fall Open House for the Office of Multicultural Student Life. This open house features a student organization fair where students can learn about getting involved with our multicultural student organizations; tours of the Black Cultural Center that also provides information on our Tutorial and Book Loan Programs; live entertainment by students; and give-a-ways from our community partners which includes churches, hair salons and barbershops, ethnic restaurants and much more. This celebration is a great way to meet new people from all diverse backgrounds, make new friends, and find useful resources. This event is held annually as a part of the UT Welcome Week Celebration, so be sure to come out to sample foods from local restaurants, see the fraternities and sororities participate in an exhibition step show, and learn more about student organizations, departments, local churches, beauty and barber shops, and community agencies.
The Office of Multicultural Student Life values your involvement in past Welcome Week events! During UT’s 2013 Welcome Week, we will be hosting the Multicultural Student Life Welcome Back Celebration (formerly Karibu Tena). This event is planned to welcome our new and returning students for the 2013-2014 academic year! It is also a great opportunity to promote your organization or business and recruit new members.
This year's MSL Welcome Back Celebration will be held on August 20, 2013 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Black Cultural Center. For more information, please contact Shawnboda Mead at (865) 974-6861 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
